How Siebel CRM is Future Ready ?
We saw in the last blog, the strategy road map given by Oracle for Siebel CRM , if you are someone who missed the last blog Please click HERE .
It looks like Oracle is looking at Siebel as a very viable product with a very long road map way into 2030. These bring capabilities such as Cloud-Ready Composer (IP2017), IRM, IoT (IP2018), more integrations to other cloud applications (Oracle, AWS etc) just to list a few. Please note here IP stands for "Innovation Pack" or Siebel update/upgrade . Oracle has been working in making Siebel stand out and give a Head on competition to it's competitors .
The amount of Customization Siebel provides is far more then other CRM systems , this is one of the major reason Siebel still has a lot of client's who have no mood to shift to any other CRM .
Oracle provide regular innovation packs, and its premier support to Siebel Customers. Oracle has demonstrated its commitment to its Siebel CRM customers for over a dozen years by enhancing the application with ongoing innovations while also protecting their existing Siebel CRM solutions with industry leading Oracle Lifetime Support policies. Oracle is staunchly committed to the long-term investment in and support of Siebel CRM and its other Applications Unlimited products. Under this commitment, Oracle regularly evaluates its support policies; adjusting them to better serve its customers
Oracle has a history of delivering innovation for Siebel CRM through annual Innovation Packs and now with the new, even more agile Continuous Release Model, features will be made available even quicker to our customers. Oracle has been innovating Siebel CRM for many years and in fact the recent Innovation Pack 2017 release was one of the biggest release in recent years, packed full of innovation and new features.
Siebel CRM applications moved to a Continuous Innovation Model from the 18.4 release in April 2018. With this model all new functionality is delivered as updates to the existing release; for some updates, the standard upgrade process is not required to gain access to new features and capabilities.
Oracle understands that Siebel CRM applications are critical to organizations and vital to past, present, and future success. Oracle is committed to ensuring customer success and that commitment extends to the Siebel CRM application. Oracle has also adjusted the Oracle Lifetime Support policy and intends to provide Premier Support “through at least” December 2030.
Further adjustments to the Oracle Lifetime Support policy include Oracle’s plan to review and update this policy on an annual basis. Beginning in calendar year 2019, Oracle intends on extending the currently stated Premier Support “through at least” date by one year and to repeat this annually. These annual, one-year incremental extensions to Siebel CRM are planned to continue until further notice from Oracle. This creates a rolling window of 10+ years of Premier Support for the Siebel CRM application. (Now , That's some Great News !!)
We at Briskwin IT Solutions have worked on multiple clients who have switched to Siebel’s new Open UI architecture and are successful and happy with the change.
So, to answer the burning question: We Briskwin IT Solutions, don’t think Siebel is dying but rather being sustained by existing customers who would need to make it a viable investment so they can continue to leverage the promised future functionalities like Open UI, Cloud-Ready composer, RESTful APIs, IoT, AI-driven CRM, etc.
